The Power of PLAY

What Makes Us Special?

Here at SEEQS, we start the day off with physical activity - as some students need this time to help them wake up; others need the time to expend early morning energy and get excited for the day.

Additionally, each physical activity is supervised by the same teachers who teach the core content classes of Math, English, Arts, Science, and Social Studies. This allows students and teachers to connect more authentically outside the traditional classroom format, demonstrating our core value of “getting in it” with students.

Education research shows that starting the day with physical activity and play allows students to better engage in learning throughout the school day.

Work Hard, Play Hard

Physical Activity groups can be led by teachers, students, community partners, or a combination of these. Offerings are determined by teacher and student interest as well as available space and equipment.

At SEEQS, we believe in the power of PLAY… for community building, for brain stimulation, and for FUN!

Physical activity connects students across grade levels and outside of academic content, fostering a sense of community school-wide. From Volleyball to Gardening to Yoga to Ultimate Frisbee, SEEQS offers endless physical activities for students, teachers, and staff to move their bodies, develop skills, and engage a different part of their brains together.

Get Involved!

We invite community members to contact us at seeqsinfo@seeqs.org if you'd like to volunteer to help with Physical Activity!

We also welcome donations of lightly used sports equipment or other materials for students.
