Kat Sampson
Math Teacher

Kat is an enthusiastic middle school math teacher who calls Kaimuki-Wilhelmina Rise her home. She shares her home with her partner, her rambunctious puppy and charismatic cat. She enjoys spending time with her friends outside swimming, biking, running, surfing, hiking, talking, you name it! Prior to joining SEEQS in 2023, Kat spent six years teaching Geometry at public charter schools in New Orleans, where she learned from other veteran educators how to build a classroom full of discovery and joy. She feels most successful when students are working together to tackle a complicated math problem. She believes that every child has the capacity to fall in love with math and she uses her love of the subject to inspire that in them. Before moving to New Orleans, Kat earned her Bachelor’s in Journalism with a Minor in French from the University of Texas at Austin.

"I work at SEEQS because of its commitment to challenge the public education status quo for the betterment of its students and the greater community."
